Instructions

  1. After finding a picture you would like to have as a magnet, cut a piece of clear contact paper twice the size of your photo or two pieces that are slightly larger than your photo. Laminated Picture Magnets
  2. Next peal the contact paper from it's backing so you are left with just the sticky contact paper facing up. You can do half at a time or the whole thing if you did one large piece. If you used two pieces of contact paper, only peel the backing off one piece to start. Laminated Picture Magnets
  3. Lay your picture on the sticky side of the contact paper. You can put either side down. Laminated Picture Magnets
  4. Peel the rest of the backing off the contact paper and fold it over to the other side of the picture. The picture will then be coated on both sides by the contact paper. Do the same thing with the second piece of contact paper if you used two. Press down firmly all over the picture to make it smooth. Laminated Picture Magnets
  5. Using your scissors, either with design pattern edges or smooth, cut all the way around the picture. It works best if you cut slightly into the edges of the picture. You can make the magnet any shape or size at this time. Feel free to cut out multiple things on one picture or keep the whole thing. Laminated Picture Magnets Laminated Picture Magnets
  6. Next cut a piece of the magnet off if you used the roll of magnet. You will also need to peel the backing off the magnet at this time. You may want to use more than one small magnet or a large one depending on the size of your picture. You can always add more later if it isn't sticking to the refrigerator the way you would like. And after the backing is peeled, stick them on the laminated picture. If you used the individual magnets, you will need to glue them to your picture. Laminated Picture Magnets
  7. You are now ready to hang them on your refrigerator and enjoy! This is a really easy project to do with your kids. They can make their very own!
