Featured Crafter

Please welcome Jen del Muro! Jen is an amazing crafter and wonderful inspiration for crafters of all levels. If you have never been to her website, i{heart}2stamp, (which I can hardly believe anyone hasn't been here) you need to check her out! She makes fabulous projects and it's so fun to read what she (and her husband) has to say. Here is a bit more about Jen in her own words!

I am married to the most wonderful man in the world...Tony. You can find him writing witty whims on my blog on the first Sunday of the month. So far, we have one child, but hopefully more will be on their way in the next couple of years. I am a mom of a beautiful little girl, Ellie. I am very fortunate to get to stay at home with her. Before I was a SAHM, I was a 3rd grade teacher. I have considered going back into education, but for now I am happy where I am. When I am not chasing Ellie around, I am in my studio stamping my heart out. I am currently on 4 Design Teams: My Favorite Things, Verve Visual, The Cat's Pajamas, and Glue. I keep very busy with those companies, but also find the time to create with many other product lines.

I also asked Jen a few questions I thought would be fun to hear answers to.

How did you get started with crafts?

I have always made cards for friends and family, but the "real" obsession came in Oct. 2004 when my neighbor's son brought over a stamped Halloween goody. I wanted to know all about it. Needless to say, it's been non-stop since then.

How much time per day do you spend on your crafts? Is it enough? :)

I try to do a project a day. If I had my choice, I would like to make it a 9-5. :) So, I guess it's not enough, but I don't feel that I am lacking for time.

What is your favorite craft item to use or project to make?

I am in love with my Copic Markers right now. I really like to make boxes and bags from scratch.

Where do you get your inspiration (for your stamp creating or card making)?

The questions should be, "Where don't I!?!" LOL I am always on the lookout for color combos, layouts and project ideas. There's no telling where I got the inspiration for something. I had a get a camera phone just so I could snap shots when I was out and about. I also keep a journal in my purse to jot down ideas and such.

Do you have any advice for fellow crafters out there? Words of wisdom, perhaps? :)

When it seems like work, it's not a hobby anymore. Be sure your hobby is doing what you love.

Jen does so much great work! It's hard to pick just a few samples to share. I hope you enjoy the ones chosen and will take some time to visit her site for more!
