Featured Crafter

Please welcome Jillian! She is an amazing crafter and it's so fun to visit her website. She has such a sweet and soft element to the crafts she puts together. But they are very fun at the same time. She's also very funny and this comes across reading her blog! Here is a little more about Jillian in her own words.

I'm a hoarder! Ok, so maybe this isn't something I should be proud of, perhaps I should be starting a Stamp Hoarders Anonymous group, I just know there must be more hoarders like me out there. I see something and I MUST have it, no waiting allowed. But do I use it?? Heaven's no! What if when I use it I can't find anymore like it and it's gone forever?!?! Luckily stamps are reusable so I can justify buying more, right? After all, stamping is considered therapy...or rather causes some of us to need therapy. ;)

I am a design team member for Paper Pretties and was featured as a Guest Star Stamper at Paper Trey Ink. I am also a Stampin' Up! demo (Jillian's SU site) of 8 years and always find myself going back to the basics of stamping.

One thing Jillian didn't mention, is that she appears to be quite the baker. But even if her baking tasted horrible (which I am sure it doesn't), it sure looks fantastic! You will see some pictures later! And probably get really hungry...or get the urge to bake!

I also asked Jillian a few questions I thought would be fun to hear answers to.

How did you get started with crafts?
I've always been crafty *insert Beastie Boys song here* but I got into stamping and card making when I walked into a stamp store for 1 stamp to put on my Xmas card envelopes and walked out with a $350 charge to my credit card. I've been addicted ever since. Oh and when I went to my first SU party, let's just say that VISA started sending me thank you notes!

How much time per day do you spend on your crafts? Is it enough? :)
Is blog reading at work considered craft time? ;) I work full time in the insurance field so my days are fairly long and stressful. I don't get to spend nearly as much time stamping as I'd like, but I'd say I'm in my craft room about 1-2 hours a day. I'd sleep in there if my hubby would let me!

What is your favorite craft item to use or project to make?
That's like asking which child is your favorite!!! *lol* Right now I'm constantly using my Nestabilities, Copics and dry embossing templates. Card making is my first love but baked goods are a close 2nd!

Where do you get your inspiration (for your stamp creating or card making)?
Challenges really push me. Whether it's a color challenge, sketch challenge or way-to-use-it challenge, I find I am most inspired to get crafty when I'm challenged. Sadly, I don't get time to do the daily SCS challenges but I do get to enjoy a virtual stamp night each month over at Paper Pretties.

Do you have any advice for fellow crafters out there? Words of wisdom, perhaps? :)
Read blogs! You can find so many tips and tricks just by surfing around the stampers blog network. Granted, you'll also find stamps and supplies you just HAVE to get your hands on, but trust me, it's worth it. Just don't let your husband see the bank statements and you'll be fine!

Thankfully Jillian sent me a ton of pictures, so I only threw in a couple more. She picked a bunch of fabulous pictures. But what isn't to love about her work! Enjoy!
