Featured Crafter

Please welcome Cambria! Her website is just wonderful! She has so much great work there! You'll see some samples later. She wrote a very nice bit about herself, so I am going to include that here.

"I'm happily married and thankful for my AWESOME husband. After years of infertility treatments, I was blessed with four children. My oldest and my twins with the help of fertility drugs (all boys) and then surprised years later with a beautiful daughter all on my own.. Well, my husband helped, but no fertility drugs. LOL. I feel blessed to be a stay-at-home Mom....even though most days are so crazy busy, I think I'd get more done at a "job". I'm a Stampin' Up! Manager with THE BEST group of stampers and down line. I have so much fun being a demonstrator and have met the most wonderful friends of my life through through SU!. I was an original Dirty Girl at SCS (Her SCS gallery). I design for Lizzie Anne Designs, Hanna Stamps, and guest design for Gina K. Designs. I think those woman are some of the best ladies in the business baby. I LOVE working with each of them. I feel extremely blessed and rich with wonderful family and friends. Oh, and I'm a big dork at heart.. And totally at peace with my dorkdome. :)"

I also want to add that she does some great work with Scor-Pal. If you have never seen her Shirt tutorial, you need to check it out. I made a bunch of them for Father's day. I had to throw that in there because I think that was when I first learned about this wonderful lady. I have been addicted to her stuff since! And I am sure you will be, too!

I also asked Cambria a few questions I thought would be fun to hear answers to.

How did you get started with crafts?
I started doing crafts as a youngster with my parents. Both my Mom and my Dad are very creative. My Mom has done everything from ceramics, to floral arrangements, to knitting, to girl scout leader extraordinare. My Dad is a awesome wood worker. He can just about design and build anything. He's made beautiful clocks, jewelry stands, frames, mirrors.. You name it. Working with Myrtlewood and sandblasting was one of his favorites. I was introduced to stamping when a friend of mine asked if I'd host a workshop for her. I was HOOKED. From then on, it's been stamping and stamping and more stamping. I think I still have some cross stitch stuff upstairs somewhere. LOL.
How much time per day do you spend on your crafts? Is it enough? :)
Heck no, it's never enough... Are you kidding? I'm lucky to get in 1 or two hours a day. Once I get my daughter on the afternoon Kindergarten bus, I swear she is at the front door and home from school as soon as I turn around. Sometimes, it takes me days to finish up projects. That's okay though... The kids grow too fast and stamping isn't going anywhere. It's nice to always have it to look forward to.

What is your favorite craft item to use or project to make?
Tough one... This changes for me often. Right now, I'd say that my favorite craft item is my little Janome Sew Mini. I guess because I barely passed home ec because of sewing. I cannot sew. My sister could just whip up things with no pattern and I just wanted to toss the machine out the window. I'm still thrilled with myself that I can sew... Even if it's only on card stock. Now, if I could have been graded on sewing card stock... LOL. I enjoy making all kinds of things, but I'd say that I make cards the most.

Where do you get your inspiration (for your stamp creating or card making)?
I get inspiration from everywhere. My daughters clothes, ribbon, anything that catches my eye. Sometimes scraps on my desk. I also get a lot of inspiration from my friends... I have very talented friends. I've met so many wonderful stampers through Stampin'Up! And my upline's web site Splitcoaststampers. I can always get inspired in the gallery at SCS or blog hoppin'.

Do you have any advice for fellow crafters out there? Words of wisdom, perhaps? :)
I don't know about words of wisdom. I would say...... don't give up. I can't tell you how many times I thought I messed up a card and then just kept going, or adding to it to cover a mistake and ended up with a favorite card or project. It either turns so bad that there is no place to go other than the trash, or something that is different, but unique. You have to experiment sometimes to get results. YOU GO GIRLS (and boys)! :)

I have included a few pictures of her work for you to admire! I could have spent all day adding pictures to share, but I limited it to 10! Be sure to set aside some time to look at her blog more thoroughly!
