Featured Crafter

Please welcome Julie Masse! You have to take a minute and check out her website! Julie is not only an amazing crafter, but also super mom! She is a stay at home mom to 4! I am sure she rocks at multi-tasking! She is a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. Julie is also on a couple design teams: Paper Pretties and Kitchen Sink Stamps. She is just an overall very sweet lady and I am so happy to give others the opportunity to get to know her a little better!

I also asked Julie a few questions I thought would be fun to hear answers to.

How did you get started with crafts?
I have always been a crafter really and I love trying new things! Some of the crafts I've done over the years include, sewing, quilting, smocking, basket making, and jewelry making just to name a few! When I had my first baby a friend of mine offered to start my birth announcements. We picked out the color scheme and stamps and she did all the work ahead of time except printing the baby's information. That was one of my first stamping projects! For my daughter's first birthday I was visiting that same friend for a stamping party and decided to stamp my daughter's birthday invitations and thank you's. From there it progressed very quickly!! My little hobby quickly progressed into a passion and as I accumulated more and more supplies my SU! demo, kept saying "You'd make a great demo, you should join!" I finally decided to go for it just a couple years later and have so enjoyed the friends I've met and the great opportunities I've had stamping! When I started my blog at the beginning of the year I had NO idea where it would take me! I have met the most awesome people and have enjoyed so much growth in my own personal crafting! I have been so blessed to become a member 2 design teams, Paper Pretties and Kitchen Sink Stamps. The friends I have made are priceless and I am so grateful for these opportunities!

How much time per day do you spend on your crafts? Is it enough? :)
My husband would probably give you a different answer, but I probably spend between 1-2 hours a day actually stamping. I wish there were more hours in the day that I could devote to just stamping . . . but then there are so many talented stamping blogs out there and they must be read! :)

What is your favorite craft item to use or project to make?
My favorite craft item changes almost weekly but over the long haul I have to say the two things I could not do without are my paper cutter and my scorer! I know it's boring but I am a fanatic about having my paper cut straight - and I LOVE a nice clean folded edge! You will never catch me just folding over a piece of paper without scoring it first! LOL! Like most stampers I love patterned paper and ribbon and there are so many great embelishments out there!! I also right now and LOVING my new Nestabilties, in my opinion these really are the best & hottest thing out there - no more expensive, big and heavy punches!

Where do you get your inspiration (for your stamp creating or card making)?
I get my inspiration from lots of sources, mostly all the great blogs I read, SCS, and some great crafting magazines. I generally work better if I have a purpose for my project, for instance when I need a birthday card or a swap or some other purpose for creating my card. New stamps are also a great "reason" to create - I cannot let a new stamp sit very long!

Do you have any advice for fellow crafters out there? Words of wisdom, perhaps? :)

I have included a few pictures of her work for you to admire! I actually included a bunch of pictures and it was hard to limit it! I hope you like the ones I chose. And stop by her site if you want to see even more wonderful creations!
