Featured Crafter

Please welcome Cathy! Cathy is the first one to email me to be on my site and I am so honored to have her here to share with all of you! You should really take a minute and check out her website. You may also know her as "stamper-c" on Splitcoast Stampers and here is a link to her Splitcoast gallery. Cathy is a stay at home/work at home mom of two girls. She has been married to her "awesome" (her word) husband for 15 years. Cathy says, "I have always loved crafts but am so thrilled to have found something that I could be so involved in and work with so many wonderful people and learn from them as well." She also currently designs for the following companies: DRS Designs, CC Designs, and A Chemistry With Paper. And Cathy feels honored to work with such great companies!

I also asked Cathy a few questions I thought would be fun to hear answers to.

How did you get started with crafts?
I started crafting around age 6. My first project was a cross stitch sampler - "Easy Does It" with a turtle on it!! I dabbled for several years in different crafts - always going back to embroidery. I was introduced to scrapbooking in 2000 by a good friend and then got interested in stamping...the rest is history!

How much time per day do you spend on your crafts? Is it enough? :)
It is never enough! I find that I have so many ideas to even write them all down would take forever! I have so much more that I want to do but with work/family it cuts down on the time a little! I try to spend at least an hour or two a day...although that is usually not in one sitting! I like to craft in the morning when I am fresh...I find at night I tend to just sit and look around! I will usually knit or embroider at night while watching tv so at least I'm doing something!!

What is your favorite craft item to use or project to make?
Wow - I'm not sure! I love using jewels on my cards! Altering frames...I don't know if I can narrow it done to a favorite project - if it comes out the way I
wanted it too, they are all my favorites!!!

Where do you get your inspiration (for your stamp creating or card making)?
Splitcoast Stampers in my number one place to hang out!! I enjoy reading my blog list daily and I'm constantly inspired by those ladies as well as others that I haven't added yet! I do tend to buy a lot of magazines and of course there is a ton of inspiration on those as well. I find lately that I see things in print or on tv and think...hmmmn, I wonder how that combo would look on a card, etc...

Do you have any advice for fellow crafters out there? Words of wisdom, perhaps? :)
Keep it up!!! We all have bad days, and days we feel we shouldn't be doing what we're doing. Don't do what you're doing for feedback (although we all love to get it), do it for yourself and just have fun...but learn what you can along the way! Stay organized and carry a really big notebook for ideas!!! ;-)

I have included a few pictures of her work for you to admire! I had a hard time yet again picking out pictures. She has so many wonderful pictures on her site. I also may have found someone who loves snowmen as much as I do! How very exciting! Don't forget to spend a couple minutes looking at all her great work!
